FRENCH CINEMA NOW 2015

in

8th French Cinema Now edition will take place at the Vogue Theatre, November 19-22, 2015.

4 days to discover 11 movies at the Vogue Theatre on Sacramento Street.

Mathieu Amalric, Arnaud Desplechin, Gérard Depardieu (less provocative as he used to be recently), Isabelle Huppert, Vincent Lindon, Diane Kruger, Michael Lonsdale, Benjamin Biolay...  and even Asterix for the kids! The selection is wide, diverse, brilliant with some awarded movies and actors.

Our top 3 would include My Golden Days, The measure of a man and In the shadow of women. We are biased... we would not miss a movie with Mathieu Amalric, we love - he is so popular in France - Vincent Lindon, and Philippe Garrel is such a character!

But make your own choice. Here is the whole program. (click on the inages to check the showtimes).

Alice Winocour, we owe her Augustine and her name was recently highlighted for her Mustang co-writing.

ASTERIX - LE DOMAINE DES DIEUX

(ASTERIX - THE MANSIONS OF THE GODS)

LA LOI DU MARCHÉ

(THE MEASURE OF A MAN)

You need both titles to understand the movie's purpose. Social movie depicting a guy who's trying to find out until where you can accept to go to save your job. Vincent Lindon has been accalimed at the last Cannes Festival for his tremendous performance.

L'OMBRE DES FEMMES

(IN THE SHADOW OF WOMEN)

The good thing is that most of these movies should be showing in SF in the upcoming months.
